Project Manager

Project Manager position available in Somerset West. A renowned international engineering company is looking for a Project Manager to join their team on a full-time permanent basis in Somerset West.

Position Requirements and Key Skills:

1. Bachelor's Degree, Engineering will be advantageous, from an accredited institution (or similar)
2. A minimum of 3 years project management experience in the manufacturing industry essential
3. Proficient in project management software tools (i.e. MS Project)
4. Sound project management skills with project management qualification preferred
5. Expertise in manufacturing processes and design is advantageous
6. Demonstrated ability to work on a global level interfacing with diverse cultures
7. SAP or equivalent experience advantageous

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage contractual relationship to customers through effective and timely resolution of claims/warranties.
2. Coordinate and track design iterations and changes during development stages as well as in serial production.
3. Implementation and maintenance of lessons learned process capturing knowledge and understanding gained through past and current projects.
4. Continuous monitoring of project progress and reporting of key aspects to Project Steering Committee.
5. Actively monitoring and reporting on project costs against budgets and generating and reviewing changes to reduce cost drivers.
6. Organize and provide tools to identify, analyze, prioritize, plan and monitor project risk.
7. Provide regular, structured and effective feedback on customer projects.
8. Overview of project management including identification of bottlenecks, providing of escalation guidance for identified issues, evaluate options and find alternatives.
9. Create and manage overall project plans including the definition of milestones and responsibilities as well as delegation and management of work packages.
10. Reviewing of customer purchase order information with respect to latest offer.
11. Tracking and be responsible for timely implementation of solutions to customer specified or internally observed issues/problems on projects.
12. Facilitate successful handover between Development/Industrialization and Serial production.
