PROJECT MANAGER – PETROCHEMICAL INDUSTRY

About the Role
PetroENG Management Services is looking for a competent, hands-on and experienced Project Manager to manage and coordinate projects within the petrochemical and general construction sectors.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and according to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate must be organised, proactive and able to effectively manage multidisciplinary teams in a fast-paced project environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, manage and oversee projects from commencement through to completion.
- Coordinate daily construction and project activities, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, quality standards and Permit-to-Work procedures.
- Independently prepare and complete Risk Assessments, Method Statements and other HSE documentation.
- Manage and coordinate construction teams, including supervisors, team leaders, subcontractors and site personnel.
- Monitor project progress against approved programmes, timelines, milestones and deliverables.
- Prepare and submit accurate daily, weekly and monthly project progress reports.
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings, technical specifications, BOQs and project documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering, HSE, construction and client teams to resolve technical issues, delays and project constraints.
- Manage project resources, including materials, tools, equipment and manpower.
- Monitor and control project costs and ensure efficient use of resources.
- Attend and conduct project and site meetings with clients, engineers, subcontractors and other stakeholders.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation and records.
- Demonstrate strong BOQ knowledge, including quantity verification, measurement and tracking.
- Identify project risks and implement appropriate corrective and preventative actions.
- Ensure all project activities are completed in accordance with client requirements, company procedures and applicable legislation.
- Provide leadership and direction to project teams and ensure effective communication across all levels.
Minimum 2 years' experience in Project Management, Construction Management or Site Management.
Proven experience managing construction or industrial projects.
Valid Code 8 driver's licence.
Strong understanding of construction processes, project planning and site coordination.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
Strong understanding of BOQs, quantities and project cost control.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organisational and time-management abilities.
Ability to work independently, under pressure and meet strict project deadlines.
Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Advantageous
- Experience within the petrochemical, oil & gas or industrial sectors.
- Experience working on EPC/EPCM projects.
- Knowledge of Permit-to-Work systems and petrochemical site requirements.
- Experience managing subcontractors and multidisciplinary construction teams.
