Job Summary

This position requires the appropriate Tier indicated in the vacancy title, with the following contract types:

  • Tier 1: UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff with permanent (PA) and fixed-term (FTA) appointments (internal candidates)
  • Tier 2: UNDP/UNCDF/UNV staff with temporary appointments (TA) and personnel on regular PSA contracts
  • Tier 3: All other contract types from UNDP/UNCDF/UNV and other agencies, and external candidates

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) South Africa is seeking a qualified project manager to oversee the Restoring Landscapes in South Africa (ReLISA) project, within the Nature, Climate and Energy Portfolio.

The goal of ReLISA is to promote landscape-level restoration, support sustainable land use, adapt to climate change, address biodiversity loss, and improve rural livelihoods.

This will involve biophysical and economic assessments, leveraging private sector investments, on-the-ground implementation across various biomes, and effective communication.

The project collaborates with six partners, including UNEP, UNDP, UNESCO, Endangered Wildlife Trust, CSIR, Unique, and C4ES.

The incumbent will perform additional duties as necessary for organizational efficiency.
