The Project Manager is a key position for Contracting, responsible for managing the initiation and implementation of major projects within the Contracting division.

The Project Manager will utilize high standards of engineering and project management, taking personal responsibility for individual projects.

Project Manager – Contracting

Location: Maidstone | Full-Time | Competitive Salary + Benefits (Hybrid Company Car)

Heidelberg Materials seeks a skilled Project Manager for the contracting team to lead delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects. This role involves managing projects from early contractor involvement (ECI) to completion, ensuring safety, timeliness, and budget adherence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning and execution of major projects, ensuring compliance with engineering and project management standards
  • Champion health, safety, and environmental best practices
  • Ensure defect-free delivery through effective resource planning
  • Manage client relationships and ensure alignment with contract objectives
  • Control project budgets and timelines, support commercial teams with site records
  • Ensure statutory and company regulation compliance
  • Support continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives
Health & Safety
  • Promote a safety-first culture across all project phases
  • Ensure compliance with Safe Systems of Work, Method Statements, and Risk Assessments
Project Delivery
  • Manage full project lifecycle from planning to completion
  • Deliver projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards
Environment & Sustainability
  • Ensure compliance with environmental regulations
  • Promote sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact
Client Liaison & Stakeholder Management
  • Maintain strong communication with clients
  • Manage scope or schedule changes collaboratively
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders
Financial Management
  • Monitor and control project budgets
  • Maintain accurate site records for reporting
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
