Job description

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a strong medical background within the hospital / clinic environment.
  • Relevant academic qualifications are essential. A Med Tech / Nursing background is essential for this role. Flow cytometry experience is advantageous.
  • Previous medical experience having worked within the emergency care and / or diagnostic / point of care and in-service is essential.
  • Previous experience having worked in a new business development, sales or service role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Promoting the point-of-care product portfolio to existing and new customers.
  • Promoting and selling of diagnostic point-of-care equipment and consumables.
  • Calling on all critical care areas of the hospital, primary health care, emergency medical services and pathology services calling on doctors, nurses, procurement and management.
  • Conducting sales and follow-up calls as well as handling public and private tendering and preparing sales quotations.
  • Achieving and exceeding sales and GP budgets within the territory, relevant customer accounts and product budgets.
  • Effectively following up and concluding long-term high-value projects.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops for existing and new possible clients in order to showcase and market services and products.
  • Monitoring market and customer movements in order to react effectively and proactively to any changes.
  • Preparing and submitting sales and marketing strategies in line with the available budget.
  • Developing and implementing marketing plans for advertising campaigns and launches of new products within product budgets.
  • Conveying good product knowledge to research, diagnostic and pathology customers.
  • Solving customer queries and complaints.
  • Presenting sales reports to senior management.
