Job description

At Sandvik Rock Processing Solutions ("SRP"), we are passionate about development and advanced technology, aiming to provide the best experience for our customers sustainably.

We seek an ambitious, motivated, and results-oriented Project Manager to join our Screening Solutions – Regional Supply Africa team. The role reports to the Supply Chain Manager and is based at our offices in Spartan, Kempton Park, Johannesburg.

Purpose of the role

Support Capital Sales and Aftermarket on capital equipment and large-scale aftermarket orders, ensuring efficient project execution to meet customer requirements.

Key responsibilities
  • Review customer tender requirements and technical specifications to ensure project scope aligns with proposals.
  • Manage project documents, schedules, approvals, and invoicing in line with internal and customer standards.
  • Coordinate resources and deliverables with internal teams.
  • Facilitate drawing approvals and material allocations.
  • Attend customer and internal project meetings.
  • Maintain up-to-date project schedules and reports.
  • Manage scope, schedule, and cost changes during projects.
  • Collaborate with Finance on milestone invoicing.
  • Oversee job closure and invoicing processes.
  • Coordinate customer inspections and tests with Operational & Quality departments.
  • Manage logistics and shipping requirements.
  • Ensure proper documentation and record management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Degree in Project Management, Civil, Industrial, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • PMP or similar certification is advantageous.
  • 5-7 years of project management experience, preferably in manufacturing or equipment projects.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
  • Experience with large-scale aftermarket projects and shipping of abnormal goods is beneficial.

  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Customer-centric approach and valid driver's license.
