Job Opportunity: Project Leader / Architect

An exciting opportunity has become available within the construction industry for a Project Leader / Architect. The position is based in Plattekloof.

Responsibilities
  • Managing, delivering, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on projects.
  • Managing project documentation, contracts, and finances.
  • Ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and procedures.
  • Managing consultant and contractor appointments and performance.
  • Reviewing invoices, appointments, and related documentation.
  • Ensuring compliance with all protocols and standards.
  • Maintaining effective communication with stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience.
  • Must be professionally registered with SACAP.
  • Degree in Architecture.
  • Ability to work in an open office environment with other professionals.
  • Experience in government health projects or high complexity construction projects is advantageous.
  • Sound knowledge of JBCC 6.2 Principal Building Agreement; exposure to NEC 3 & 4 contracts is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of CIDB, PROCSA, Fee Scales, and consultant appointments.
  • Ability to review and endorse Contract Instructions & Extension of Time claims.
  • Experience with project-specific cash flow projections is beneficial.
  • Strong project management, delegation, and administrative skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong formal writing skills.
  • Ability to work under strict deadlines.
Additional Information

The successful candidate will work under the supervision of a Programme Manager and will be responsible for managing allocated projects, ensuring compliance with timelines and budgets, and maintaining project documentation and stakeholder relations.

Desired Skills & Experience
  • Architectural and project management expertise.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Degree and registration with the South African Council for the Architectural Profession (SACAP).
