EDF Renewables South Africa is a fully integrated independent power producer (IPP), delivering innovative and sustainable wind, solar, and battery energy projects across Sub-Saharan Africa. With over 3GW in development and operations, we're driving the energy transition forward.

As the company continues to grow, we're seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Finance Officer to help manage the financial performance of our operating renewable energy projects.

The Role

The Project Finance Officer acts as the main financial liaison between EDF Renewables, lenders, and internal teams. You will be responsible for overseeing project financing arrangements, managing loan compliance, analyzing financial models, and supporting decision-making through accurate reporting and risk assessment.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the point of contact for all financing arrangements during construction and operations

Manage and monitor loan agreements, drawdowns, and bank flows

Oversee derivatives and hedge instruments (e.g., interest rate swaps, forex)

Conduct cash flow analysis, project financial modeling, and financial ratio calculation

Ensure compliance with debt covenants and contractual obligations

Prepare and deliver reporting to lenders and internal stakeholders

Support due diligence processes and oversee risk mitigation strategies

Manage project guarantees, SARB approvals, and financing documents

Handle “exceptional events” that impact project financing or risk profiles

Collaborate cross-functionally with asset management, legal, and construction teams

What You'll Need

Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field

3–5 years' experience in structured finance or project finance

Strong financial modeling and MS Excel proficiency

Solid knowledge of project finance structures, credit risk, and compliance

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
