Job description

The future of infrastructure isn't built by engineers alone, it's financed by professionals who know how to turn ambitious projects into bankable investments. If you have experience in renewable energy infrastructure, project finance, and working with public sector clients, this is an opportunity to join a specialist advisory firm shaping the next generation of infrastructure across Africa.

Our client is a respected infrastructure advisory firm that partners with governments, development finance institutions, investors, and private sector stakeholders to deliver transformative infrastructure projects. They are seeking an experienced Associate (Finance) to join their growing team. This role is suited to a finance professional with a strong background in renewable energy infrastructure, project finance, and financial modelling. Working alongside engineering, legal, ESG, and project teams, you will structure commercially viable projects, support capital raising initiatives, and deliver financial solutions that enable critical infrastructure development. You will play a key role in developing sophisticated financial models, conducting due diligence, supporting procurement and feasibility processes, and engaging with lenders, DFIs, investors, and public sector clients throughout the project lifecycle. This is an excellent opportunity to work on meaningful projects that contribute to the energy transition while gaining exposure to complex infrastructure transactions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and audit complex project finance models, including valuation, debt sizing, debt sculpting, sensitivity analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Support the structuring, financing, and capital raising of renewable energy and infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare financial sections of feasibility studies, business cases, procurement documentation, and bid evaluations.
  • Conduct financial due diligence, industry benchmarking, and investment analysis.
  • Coordinate investor and lender due diligence processes, data rooms, and financing workstreams.
  • Engage with Development Finance Institutions (DFIs), commercial lenders, investors, and public sector clients.
  • Collaborate with engineering, legal, ESG, and project management teams to deliver integrated infrastructure solutions.
  • Strengthen financial modelling governance, documentation, and best practices across the business.
Job Experience and Skills Required

  • Minimum 8 years' experience within project finance, corporate finance, infrastructure advisory, or investment banking.
  • Proven experience delivering renewable energy infrastructure projects.
  • Demonstrated experience working with public sector clients, government entities, municipalities, or state-owned organisations.
