Tasks and Responsibilities

The Project Expert will contribute to the implementation of project activities through high-level strategic oversight and technical guidance, focusing on the following:

1. Provide strategic oversight to ensure project activities meet timelines and objectives.
2. Conduct periodic reviews of project progress and advise on implementation strategies.
3. Advise on training needs and contribute to capacity-building strategies for the One Health approach.
4. Organize strategic reviews to align project directions with evolving priorities.
5. Analyze project performance trends and recommend corrective actions.
6. Facilitate stakeholder forums or workshops periodically.
7. Monitor financial impacts of strategic decisions and provide advisory input.
8. Establish partnerships with training institutions for ongoing development.
9. Align project activities with regional pandemic-related efforts and foster collaboration.
10. Review and provide feedback on reports from implementing partners to ensure quality and alignment.
11. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders for coherent implementation.
12. Support the Programme Coordinator to align activities with national policies and priorities.
13. Participate in project steering committees and strategic meetings.
14. Provide regular progress updates to the FAOR.
15. Advise on communication strategies to enhance stakeholder engagement.
16. Participate in country missions with project partners as needed.
17. Undertake other tasks as mutually agreed with the FAO Representation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Advanced university degree in Veterinary Science with a PhD.
• Over 10 years of experience in Veterinary Epidemiology, emphasizing zoonotic and transboundary animal diseases.
