A municipal Supply Chain Management Unit is seeking a professional to provide strategic and administrative support to enhance operations. The ideal candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in Supply Chain Management, Accounting, Finance, or Economics, possess a Project Management certificate, and have 6 years of relevant experience. Responsibilities include managing budgets, advising the SCM Executive Team, and facilitating special projects. A valid driving license is mandatory.
Job Purpose
To provide a professional and specialist service in order to improve the SCM Unit's operations and help the Unit accomplish its objectives.
Key Responsibility Areas
Provides strategic support in the process of SCM Transformation and / re-engineering.
Formulates capital and operating budgets for the Units special projects, programmes and initiatives.
Provides administrative and co-ordination support to key strategic projects.
Develops a demand management system for the Municipality.
Represents the Unit at meetings / gatherings.
Provides strategic advice and specialist input to the Head SCM and SCM Executive Team.
Facilitates the implementation of Procurement (SCM) Special Projects, Programmes and Initiatives.
Directs and manages the Units Learnerships Programme.
Keeps abreast with relavant and best practices in the ongoing field of SCM.
Provides management support and perform co-ordinating functions for the SCM Unit.
Performs on behalf of the Head SCM, special assignments and / or functions.
Assists the Head Supply Chain Management in formulating strategic direction for the Unit.
Reports to the Head SCM on performance in terms of the agreed objectives, plans and budgets.

Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualification (NQL Level 7) in the Supply Chain Management or Accounting or Finance or Economics field.
Project Management certificate.
Professional registration within the field of Supply Chain Management or Accounting or Finance or Economics.
Must be in possession of National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF Level 6) or Must obtain a National Treasury MFMA minimum competency qualification (NQF Level 6) within 18 months of the date of appointment.
Valid motor vehicle driving license.
6 Years relevant experience.
Computer Literacy.
Preferred Requirements
Postgraduate qualification (NQF Level 8) in the Supply or Accounting or Finance or Economics field.
7 Years relevant experience.
