Position: Project Engineer (Mozambican nationals only)

FIVES SERVICES SOUTHERN AFRICA (Mozambique) is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team in Matola, Mozambique. This is a permanent position reserved for Mozambican citizens.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Installation and commissioning of Fives equipment at existing customer sites and other sites as diversification opportunities arise.
  2. Act as an ambassador for FSSA onsite, ensuring effective communication between the client and FSSA.
  3. Follow up with clients regarding new business opportunities.
  4. Provide technical assistance to internal and external customers.
  5. Define project execution scopes, work breakdown structures, schedules, objectives, method statements, and project risks with relevant stakeholders, based on detailed handovers from the Technical Sales team.
  6. Maintain monthly overview of service budgets, monitor variations, and ensure cost control and timely invoicing.
  7. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
  8. Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for flawless project execution.
  9. Participate in contractor/vendor selection and approval processes.
  10. Oversee multidisciplinary project teams responsible for installation and commissioning, adhering to safety, quality, budget, and schedule targets.
  11. Measure and report project performance, perform risk management, and create comprehensive documentation.
  12. Train operators, supervisors, and technicians on equipment use and maintenance.
  13. Manage client relationships concerning invoicing, deadlines, milestones, and project turnover.
  14. Provide feedback to the Commercial Department to improve customer service.
  15. Coordinate internal ad-hoc projects as needed.
  16. Implement mitigation plans and perform proactive problem-solving on-site.
  17. Report issues to senior management and develop good customer relationships to ensure satisfaction.
  18. Maintain high safety standards on site.

Qualifications

  • Engineering diploma or degree.
  • Project Management Diploma (mandatory).
  • 7-10 years of multi-disciplinary project experience.
  • At least 3 years of site execution supervision experience is advantageous.
  • Proven project management and organizational skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Microsoft Projects.
  • Marketing skills for identifying new projects and opportunities.
  • Financial understanding related to budgets and job costing.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Leadership skills for goal-setting, development, and mentorship.
  • Conflict management skills.
  • Strong planning, organizational, and time management skills.
