Placements24 is seeking a proactive Project Engineer to manage capital projects for industrial facilities in the Benoni area. The role combines on-site oversight with remote coordination, covering the full project lifecycle from conception to close-out, while enforcing safety, quality and environmental standards.

You will lead cross-functional teams, prepare detailed plans with budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial).
• Minimum of 6 years’ experience in project engineering or project management.
• Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive Project Engineer to manage and execute capital projects for their industrial facilities in the Benoni area. This role requires a hybrid approach, combining on-site project oversight with remote coordination and planning. You will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle, from conception and planning through to execution, commissioning, and close-out. This includes managing project scope, budget, schedule, and resources, while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes that enhance operational efficiency and plant capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the planning, design, and execution of capital projects from initiation to completion.
• Develop detailed project plans, including scope definition, budget estimation, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Coordinate with internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure project objectives are met.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks and issues, and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
• Facilitate project meetings, provide regular status updates, and prepare project documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or Industrial).
