SUMMARY :

Project Engineer for Battery Storage, Microgrid Systems

POSITION INFO :

Our client, an Energy Specialist, is currently seeking a Project Engineer for Battery Storage and Microgrid Systems. The position can be based in Gauteng or Somerset West, Western Cape. The Project Engineer will drive project engineering activities, report to the Engineering Manager, and collaborate with the Project Manager.

Main job functions:

• Execute Battery Storage (BESS) and Microgrid projects, leading all technical activities and coordinating the project team.
• Proactively seek and implement improvements in project execution processes.
• Uphold safety and integrity values.
• Work effectively as part of a team.
• Support bid and proposal teams, including cost estimations.
• Perform other duties as required.

Requirements :

• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience.
• Fluency in spoken and written English.
• Good knowledge of power systems, LV and MV electrical equipment, switchgears, and generation equipment.
• Knowledge of Microgrid systems, battery storage, and renewable generation is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Office tools.
• Flexibility to travel occasionally.

Qualifications :

Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
