Job summary

A leading company in the Industrial Engineering & Manufacturing sector is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for permanent employment in Richards Bay. The successful candidate will oversee the installation and commissioning of equipment, manage project budgets, and ensure high safety standards on site. This role requires strong leadership and organizational skills, along with a Project Management Diploma and significant project experience.

  • Trade tested artisan with N4 minimum accepted.

Job description

An experienced PROJECT ENGINEER is required for permanent employment based in Richards Bay.

Position Details :
  • Industry : Industrial Engineering & manufacturing.
  • Ref No. : TRG 2189
  • Salary : Market related TCTC avail / neg + benefits
  • Start Date : As soon as possible
Responsibilities :
  • Installation and commissioning of equipment at customer sites, including travel to Mozambique.
  • Represent the company professionally on site, ensuring effective communication with clients.
  • Follow up on new business opportunities with clients.
  • Provide technical support to internal and external customers.
  • Define project scopes, schedules, and risks after handover from sales.
  • Manage project budgets, costs, and invoicing.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and budget.
  • Coordinate resources and vendors for project execution.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning teams, ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor and report project performance.
  • Perform risk management and create project documentation.
  • Train operators and technicians on equipment maintenance.
  • Manage client relationships, including invoicing and deadlines.
  • Coordinate internal projects as needed.
  • Implement risk mitigation plans and problem-solving on-site.
  • Maintain high safety standards on site.
Qualifications & Skills :
  • Engineering qualification (diploma or degree) or trade tested artisan with N4 minimum.
  • Project Management Diploma (mandatory).
  • 7-10 years of multi-disciplinary project experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Project.
  • Skills in marketing, budgeting, and client communication.
  • Leadership and organizational skills.
