Placements24 is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead chemical plant initiatives in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. The role combines on-site site management with planning and reporting from remote locations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, manage contractors, and interface with clients and regulators to drive successful capital investments and project execution.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Project Engineer to lead and manage the development and execution of new chemical plant projects in the Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal area. This role demands a seasoned professional who can oversee projects from conception through to commissioning, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for coordinating engineering disciplines, managing contractors, and interfacing with stakeholders. The role is hybrid, requiring significant on-site presence for site management, inspections, and client meetings, balanced with remote capabilities for planning and reporting. This is a high-impact position crucial to our client's expansion plans, offering the chance to shape significant industrial infrastructure. You will be instrumental in driving innovation and efficiency in project delivery, ensuring successful outcomes for major capital investments.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the entire lifecycle of chemical plant projects, from feasibility studies to final commissioning.
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and schedules, and ensure adherence to them.
• Coordinate with engineering teams (process, mechanical, electrical, civil) to ensure integrated design.
• Select and manage contractors and vendors throughout the project execution phase.

Requirements
