About the Role

Our client, a significant player in the industrial chemical sector, is seeking a dynamic Chemical Engineer to join their project team in Richards Bay, KwaZulu-Natal. This role involves contributing to the execution and development of new chemical projects, from conceptualization through to commissioning. As a key member of the project engineering group, you will be involved in process design, equipment specification, and ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent project management capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of process designs, including PFDs and P&IDs, for new chemical plants and modifications.


• Prepare technical specifications for process equipment and instrumentation.


• Support project managers in developing project scope, schedules, and cost estimates.


• Participate in HAZOP and other process safety review meetings.


• Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.


• Oversee site activities during the construction and commissioning phases.


• Troubleshoot technical issues that arise during project execution.


• Ensure compliance with all company standards, safety regulations, and environmental requirements.


• Conduct site visits and inspections as required.

Requirements
