Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a capable Drafting/Engineering Support professional in Johannesburg to design and review engineering drawings and RAMS, coordinate with commercial and operations teams, and support on-site activities.

The role requires experience with AutoCAD, AutoDesk Inventor, and proficient use of the MS Office suite. You will engage in documentation, client communication, and on-site data capture for heavy lift projects.

Qualifications

• Design and engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
• Report writing to prepare technical documents.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office suite (Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Attend kick-off meetings with Commercial and Operational teams to establish client/stakeholder requirements.
• Attend site visits to measure information and ensure RAMS are updated.
• Create and review engineering drawings and calculations.
• Create and review risk assessments and method statements.
• Create and review equipment lists and project files.
• Create and review route surveys and ensure documents comply with procedures.

• Clear understanding of the relevant equipment and its use

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Attend kick-off meetings with Commercial and Operational teams to establish the clients / stakeholders exact requirements
• Attend site visits to measure and record specific information, including route details, and ensure that this information is incorporated into the RAMS
• Create and Review Engineering Drawings and Calculations
• Create and Review Risk Assessments
• Create and Review Method Statements
• Create and Review Equipment lists
• Create and Review Project files
• Create and Review Route Surveys
• Ensure engineering documents comply with company procedures, legislative guidance, and good practice
• Ensure approved engineering documents are filed correctly and distributed to the needed stakeholders
• Provide technical support to the company site supervisor and respond to issues on-site in a professional and timely manner
• Complete daily admin tasks accurately:
• Timesheets
• Filing of Engineering work in the correct position
• Capture HSQE observations
• Attend close-out meetings with Commercial and Operational teams to establish if the stakeholders expectations were met and to identify lessons learned which can be applied to the next project
