Job description

We are seeking a Project Engineer in the Durban area.

POSITION INFO : Basic Function :

• Deliver new projects from quotation stage up to production stage
• Project Management

Project Management :

• Create and track timing plans for overall scope and individual activities.
• Translate voice of the customer to critical to quality requirements
• Ensure milestones are achieved on time
• Stakeholder engagement and management- Communicate clearly and objectively.
• Compile reports
• Support Commercial with RFQ’s
• Manage ECI’s for new projects
• Follow customer APQP processes

Process Design :

• Design all stages of the production process
• Design processes around lean principles
• Consider investment vs return
• Research new manufacturing methods

Budget & Capex Planning :

Product Design :

People Development :

• Train shift leaders on new processes
• Develop and mentor students and interns
• Self-development of engineering skills

Problem Solving & Investigation :

• Conduct detailed investigations to support Quality with regards to field failures
• Conduct detailed investigations into manufacturing problems
• Support production with innovative solutions to manufacturing difficulties

Required Experience and Qualifications :

• 2+ years’ minimum Automotive engineering experience
• N Dip / B-tech Mech Eng or relevant technical experience

Beneficial Experience and Qualifications :
