Project Coordinator - Renewables

Our client is a rapidly growing Independent Power Producer based in Cape Town.

Purpose of this role

Administrate and coordinate renewable projects (solar, wind, biomass, and hydro) according to the requirements of the applicable Company quality procedures and stipulations of project agreements.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. KPA's : General : Use reasonable endeavors to remain abreast with market and technological developments and to identify new technologies that may contribute towards the development of the Business and improvements in the Company.
2. Always demonstrate ethics and professionalism.
3. Ensuring overall compliance to all the internal policy and procedures of the Company, including compliance with Corporate ESMS (Environmental, Social, Management System), IFC Standards and Equator Principles.
4. Carry out duties in a proper, loyal, and efficient manner to the best of their ability and at all times act in good faith and use their best endeavors to properly conduct, improve, extend, develop, promote, protect and preserve the business interests, reputation and goodwill of the Company and not do anything or engage in any activity which is or may become harmful or contrary to such interests.
5. Immediately disclose to the Employer any information which comes to their knowledge, and which does, or may, lead to them not being lawfully able to perform their duties or responsibilities.
6. Transaction and Execution Phases : Coordinate project management activities, resources, equipment, and information in support of the Project Manager and Head of PPCM.
7. Liaise with relevant teams to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives.
8. Help prepare budgets.
9. Support the Project Manager or Head of PPCM in overseeing project procurement management.
10. Act as the point of contact and communicate project status to all the team.
11. Work with the Project Manager or Head of PPCM to eliminate blockers.
12. Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures.
13. Issue all appropriate legal paperwork (e.g., contracts and terms of agreement).
14. Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports within the applicable document management system and Company procedures.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Requirements for this role :

1. BSc in Business Administration or similar is preferred.
2. Grade 12 Certificate.
3. Proven work experience as a Project Coordinator or similar role.
4. Experience in Project Management, from conception to delivery advantageous.
5. South African Citizen is preferred.
6. Technical and Behavioral competencies : An ability to prepare and interpret flowcharts, schedules, and step-by-step action plans.
7. Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
8. Strong teamwork skills.
9. Familiarity with risk management and quality control processes.
10. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
