R20,000 - R24,000 Per Month, Negotiable based on Qualification and Experience

Our client, an established Waste Management company, is seeking a Project Coordinator.

The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing project investment plans, analyzing data to measure program effectiveness, and collaborating with internal departments to ensure successful project implementation.

The role requires strong data management skills and a proactive approach to ensure smooth planning, monitoring, and completion of projects focused on collection and recycling of plastic packaging waste.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Project Coordination and Strategy
  • Support development of comprehensive project plans, including objectives, scope, deliverables, and timelines.
  • Contribute to strategies aimed at increasing collection and recycling of plastic packaging waste to meet legislative targets.
  • Coordinate collection and recycling projects, providing guidance to achieve milestones and objectives.
  • Project Support
    • Develop and maintain data management systems to track key metrics such as investment jobs and tonnes collected and recycled.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and recommend improvements.
    • Generate regular reports on recycling performance for stakeholders.
  • Finance
    • Obtain target data from Finance for project delivery.
    • Ensure invoices are paid and documentation is accurate.
    • Manage project initiation, reporting, and payments.
  • Compliance
    • Facilitate MOA setup with legal and compliance teams.
    • Monitor volume reports to track project performance.
    • Ensure partners adhere to MOA and operating procedures.
    • Conduct site visits to inspect equipment and address non-performance issues.
  • Partner Engagement
    • Assist with funding applications, site visits, and negotiations with partners.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    • Prepare progress reports, documentation, and presentations.
    • Document best practices and lessons learned for knowledge sharing.

    Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:

    • Project Management / Environmental / Waste Management qualification or equivalent.
    • 3-4 years experience in project coordination, preferably within Waste Management or Recycling.
    • Proven ability to deliver projects from initiation to closure.
    • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint; experience with MS Project and SharePoint is advantageous.
    • Ability to manage service providers and ensure performance delivery.
    • Highly organized, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Valid driver's license and own vehicle.
    • Willingness to travel locally.
    • Fluency in African languages and Afrikaans is beneficial.
