Drive delivery excellence on landmark renewable energy projects shaping South Africa's grid.
18 Month Contract - Based in Cape Town OR Johannesburg
Is this you?
You're a seasoned professional with a strong analytical mind, high integrity, and a passion for renewable infrastructure. Assertive and proactive, you thrive in complex environments, building trust while ensuring compliance, quality, and project performance. With a flair for stakeholder coordination and process alignment, you're comfortable operating independently within dynamic, matrix teams.
What you'll be doing
As the PMO, you'll be the cornerstone of project control-overseeing governance, compliance, performance, and risk management across major renewable energy construction sites. You'll ensure cohesive use of PM tools and processes, manage resources, lead reporting and forecasting, and support strategic project decisions. Your work will directly influence delivery against budget, schedule, and risk targets while contributing to a high-profile national energy initiative. You'll also provide vital input to contract and risk management, support schedule alignment, and ensure transparent reporting to stakeholders.
Where you'll be working
You'll be working with a leading force in South Africa's renewable energy landscape, jointly delivering a nationally significant battery storage initiative in partnership with global energy leaders. With a strong presence in Nationally, they've built over 1 GW of clean energy projects since 2021 and continue to invest in grid-enhancing infrastructure. Expect a forward-thinking, globally connected environment committed to sustainable development and technical excellence.
What you'll need
You'll bring over 10 years' experience on large-scale construction projects-at least 5 in management roles, and 2 specifically in renewable energy during construction. You'll hold a degree in Construction Management or Engineering, a tertiary Project Management qualification, and certification in project controls disciplines. Preferred extras include PMP or SACPCMP registration. Proficiency in FIDIC/NEC contracts, MS Office, Primavera P6 or MS Project, and a strong command of risk, cost, and schedule management are essential.
What you'll get
A chance to work on a nationally critical programme with international stakeholders. You'll join a high-performing, supportive team with a strong safety and sustainability ethos. Competitive compensation, meaningful project work, and professional development come as standard.
