The purpose of this position is to provide support to the Project Director in managing a portfolio of projects under the PMO umbrella. This role is responsible for assisting in process, maintaining effective communication and ensuring thorough documentation and reporting.

Senior Administrative Functions Include:

  1. Implementation of project filing
  2. Action tracking
  3. Meeting schedules
  4. Communication
  5. Reporting
  6. Activity coordination
  7. Site-to-office interfacing
  8. Logistics management
  9. General administration

Qualifications

  1. Advanced Certificate / Diploma NQF 6 in Project Management and / or similar
  2. Diploma NQF 6 / Degree NQF 7 in Business Administration or equivalent in experience
  3. Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) is an advantage

Experience

  1. Proven experience of a minimum of 8 (eight) years post-qualifying with a minimum of 4 (four) years within a similar role in a medium to large organisation
  2. Project management experience in the built environment and / or construction projects
  3. Participation in construction procedures, material and project management principles
  4. Competence to read and interpret drawings and technical documents
  5. Ability to manage multiple mega-projects simultaneously
  6. Proficiency in project management software and tools
  7. Knowledge of construction processes and regulations
  8. Experience in project coordination or management
  9. Knowledge of building codes and regulations

Key Performance Areas

  1. Project Administration: Ensure that all project documentation is properly created, stored, updated and easily accessible for managing resources, maintaining schedules and ensuring compliance throughout the project lifecycle
  2. Communication: Facilitate smooth and effective communication to ensure alignment on goals, tasks and deadlines for project success
  3. Meeting & Schedule Management: Organise, schedule, and ensure the effective execution of meetings and manage the project timeline to ensure that all tasks are completed on time
