The CSIR has a vacancy for a Project Administrator (Twelve-month contract).

About The Job

The CSIR has a temporary vacancy for a Project Administrator in the e-Government Impact Area within the Next Generation Enterprises and Institutions Cluster.

The incumbent will be responsible for providing project administration and event support to the Digital Health e-impilo team, ensuring projects and events are conducted in compliance with project management principles.

The position is based in Pretoria and reports to the Research Group Leader.

Responsibilities
  1. Route documentation and track proposals, contracts, tenders, and collaboration agreements for approval.
  2. Prepare project documentation, contract registration forms, and project schedules according to requirements.
  3. Create and maintain electronic project files until closeout.
  4. Provide general administrative support (travel arrangements, procurement, catering, etc.).
  5. Support planning and hosting of research group events.
  6. Liaise with shared portfolios (Finance, Procurement, etc.).
  7. Facilitate supplier registration, requisitions, POs, and closing orders.
  8. Update project documentation and assist Project Managers with administrative tasks.
  9. Assist with timesheet reports, follow-ups, and project meetings.
  10. Close open orders, follow up on payments, and assist in report compilation.
  11. Address project queries and schedule meetings.
  12. Monitor expenses against budgets and escalate deviations.
  13. Assist with project close-out administrative tasks.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
  • National Diploma in Project Management with at least two years of relevant experience.
  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work independently and in teams.
  • Good interpersonal, numerical, and communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Detail-oriented and quality-focused.
