Job summary

Communicate Finance seeks a newly qualified CA(SA) to join the group finance team in Randburg. You will compile subsidiary annual financial statements under IFRS, support group reporting, and liaise with auditors to meet deadlines.

The role covers budget consolidation, treasury share reconciliations, option valuations, and preparing segmental reports. You will contribute to variances analysis and ad-hoc finance support as part of a dynamic team.

• Strong analytical and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Compile subsidiary annual financial statements under IFRS.
• Reconcile treasury shares and calculate earnings/diluted earnings per share.
• Prepare working papers for statements (minority interest, capex split, related parties, share scheme notes).
• Consolidate budgets twice a year from budget reports.
• Liaise with auditors to ensure sign-off by deadlines.
• Valuation of options within the group.
• Prepare segmental reports and variance commentary.
• Review reports and resolve discrepancies.
• Provide ad-hoc finance support to the team.

Job description

This position involves:

• Compiling subsidiary annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and group reporting standards.
• Reconciling the treasury shares held by the group and calculating the number of shares for earnings and diluted earnings
• Preparing various workings that are used within the financial statements (i.e. minority interest, capital expenditure split, related parties, share scheme notes)
• Obtaining budget reports and consolidating the budget twice a year
• Liaising with auditors and relevant directors to ensure financial statements are signed off by the required deadline
• Performing the valuation of various options existing in the group
• Calculating and preparing detailed segmental report for inclusion in the financial statements
• Preparing a written commentary on the major variances
• Reviewing of reports and querying discrepancies
• Approving ad-hoc payments
• Providing ad-hoc support for the finance team

Skills & Experience

• Newly qualified CA (SA)
• 6 months post-articles experience
• Experience in a group reporting environment and preparation of financial statements

Qualification

• B.Com Accounting (or similar)
• Completed SAICA articles
