Qualifications

Required Skills andCompetencies

  • Strong understanding of ethical principles, particularly for emerging genetic technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to strengthen the capacity of ethics committees and foster harmonization of review processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to navigate diverse cultural contexts.
  • Familiarity with WHO guidelines and African Union protocols on ethical oversight.
  • Experience designing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies.

Education andExperience :

  • Master's degree in Ethics, Sociology, Public Policy, Arts in Education, or related field, with a minimum relevant experience of two (2) years of working within multilateral / development institutions or similar organisations nationally, regionally and / or internationally.
  • Experience in ethical frameworks, community engagement, or regulatory oversight, including work with ethics committees or review boards in the health, biotechnology, or public health sectors will be added advantage.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Ethics, Sociology, Public Policy, Arts in Education, or related field, with a minimum relevant experience of four (4) years of working within multilateral / development institutions or similar organisations nationally, regionally and / or internationally.
  • Experience in ethical frameworks, community engagement, or regulatory oversight, including work with ethics committees or review boards in the health, biotechnology, or public health sectors will be added advantage.
