The Wits Business School (WBS), located within the University of the Witwatersrand, was ranked number 1 in the 2023 sub-Saharan University rankings. Associate Professor / Adjunct Professor / Professor in Business Strategy (1 position)

Are you a distinguished academic or industry leader passionate about shaping the future of business strategy in emerging markets? We seek a senior-level, full-time, permanent appointee as an Associate Professor, Adjunct Professor, or Professor in Business Strategy.

About the Role

This role involves developing and delivering advanced courses in business strategy, leadership, and management at the postgraduate level. The successful candidate will:

  • Deliver postgraduate courses on business strategy and related topics
  • Supervise Master's and PhD students
  • Conduct and publish scholarly research and case studies in business strategy
  • Participate in leadership dialogues on strategy and management
  • Utilize industry experience to enrich business education
  • Contribute to consultancy projects and executive education programs
Requirements

For Associate Professor/Professor: A PhD in Economics, Management, or a related field; a strong research profile with publications in business strategy, international business, entrepreneurship, finance, or investment; proven teaching experience at the Masters/MBA level in an accredited business school; successful supervision of graduate students; industry or consultancy experience in strategy development and implementation; experience with blended and e-learning.

For Adjunct Professor: A PhD in Economics, Management, or related; extensive industry experience in strategy development; strategic decision-making and corporate leadership experience; proven consultancy experience; ability to supervise postgraduate research.
