MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, comprehensive, and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

  1. Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multiprofessional team.
  2. Identify, prevent, and manage risks to ensure patient safety.
  3. Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment.
  4. Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions.
  5. Create a learning environment that builds staff competence.
  6. Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged.

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing.

DESIRED EDUCATION: Postgraduate Certificate / Diploma in Operating Theatre Nursing Science.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: 1 year postgraduate qualification experience in an operating theatre.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: 3 years postgraduate qualification experience in an operating theatre.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

  • Infection prevention and control.
  • Pharmacology.
