Job summary

Mediclinic Hermanus invites applications for a Professional Nurse Specialised - Theatre Scrub. This on-site, permanent role requires a General Nursing qualification and SANC registration.

You will deliver safe perioperative nursing care in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team and keep detailed intervention records. Essential experience is not required, but 1 year post-graduate experience in a specialised unit is desirable.

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in General Nursing is essential.
• Desired education includes Midwifery and postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty.
• Registered nursing with current SANC registration is implied as standard.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team

Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety

Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment

Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions

Create a learning environment that builds staff competence

Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing

DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in relevant specialty area

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: : 1 year post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
