Job summary

Mediclinic Gariep in Kimberley, South Africa, is seeking a Professional Nurse specialised for Theatre to deliver high-quality perioperative nursing care. You will work with a multi-disciplinary team, focus on patient safety, and maintain accurate nursing records while supporting staff development.

Essential qualifications include a General Nursing degree/diploma; postgrad education in specialty and midwifery are advantageous. Relevant theatre experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Formal nursing qualifications in general nursing; postgraduate education in specialty preferred.
• Midwifery or postgraduate certification adds advantage.
• Evidence of post-qualification experience in a specialised theatre unit is desirable.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To deliver safe, comprehensive and quality nursing care according to the Scope of Practice

KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS

Deliver quality nursing care in collaboration with a multi-professional team

Identify, prevent and manage risks to ensure patient safety

Facilitate a positive patient experience by creating a conducive environment

Provide accurate and comprehensive records of all nursing interventions

Create a learning environment that builds staff competence

Ensure that all utilised stock and equipment are accurately charged

REQUIRED EDUCATION

ESSENTIAL EDUCATION: Degree / Diploma in General Nursing

DESIRED EDUCATION: Midwifery; Postgraduate certificate/ diploma in relevant specialty area

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: None

DESIRED EXPERIENCE: : 1 year post-graduate qualification experience before placement in a specialised unit
