We’re looking for a Professional Nurse who leads with care and confidence.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of a Professional Nurse in the Occupational Health Section of Safety & Sustainable Development Department.

KEY RESULT AREAS:

  • Conduct Medical Surveillance on Venetia Mine, including Heat Tolerance screening.
  • Assist with Emergency and Trauma Care.
  • Render Primary Health Care service for minor ailments.
  • Capture all data related to individual assessments.
  • Assist with preparation of daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on Health Objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate employees on Chronic Disease Management program including HIV and TB.
Qualifications
  • Grade 12/Standard 10 Certificate/N3 Qualification or relevant NQF level 4 Qualification.
  • Diploma in Nursing (General, Psychiatry, Community) and Midwifery.
  • Registered as a General Nurse with the SA Nursing Council is a requirement.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 5 Years’ experience in General Nursing post qualification.
  • 3 Years’ experience in Primary Health Care.
  • Experienced in Emergency and Trauma care.
  • Computer literacy in all applications of MS Office.
  • Successfully obtain a Medical Fitness Certificate at Venetia mine.

Skills/ Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of general nursing practices.
  • Experience in occupational health nursing will be an advantage.
  • Basic understanding of computer systems and networks.
  • Primary Health Diploma/Certificate will be an advantage.
  • Possess skills in Clinical Practice, Diagnostic and Patient counselling.
  • Able to work under pressure.
  • Strong inter-personal and communication skills.
  • Accurate recordkeeping.
