Job summary

Together Staffing Group is assisting a client in South Africa to appoint an experienced Professional Construction Manager to take ownership of major projects and lead high-performing site teams. You will drive construction programmes, coordinate site operations, and ensure delivery on time and within budget.

A strong track record in building construction, JBCC contracts, and safety compliance is essential, along with SACPCMP Pr.CM registration and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• BSc/BTech/National Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Building Science, or related field.
• Professional SACPCMP registration as Professional Construction Manager (Pr.CM) – non-negotiable.
• 8–10 years’ experience in the construction industry.
• Proven experience managing building construction projects from inception through to completion.
• Strong knowledge of JBCC and construction contracts.
• Driver’s licence is a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Take overall responsibility for the successful delivery of construction projects.
• Manage and coordinate daily site operations and construction activities.
• Develop and monitor construction programmes to ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Lead and manage site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and project resources.
• Monitor project budgets, costs, quality and productivity.
• Ensure all construction activities comply with drawings, specifications, quality standards and regulations.
• Drive health, safety, environmental and quality compliance across the project.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, quantity surveyors and other professionals.
• Chair site and project meetings and maintain accurate project records.
• Identify and resolve technical, commercial and operational challenges.
• Provide regular progress reports to senior management and clients.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards.

• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, programming, quality control, and cost management
• Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers, site teams, and project resources
• Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and construction regulations
• Sound understanding of JBCC and other relevant construction contracts
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver’s licence
