About the Role You will be the Professional Civil Engineering (PCE) responsible for directing, co-ordinating, initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & control, integration, and closing of Civil Engineering Projects.The current main focus will be a project for the widening, reconstruction and rehabilitation of a dual carriageway road, relocating of services, traffic management and associated civil works in the Tshwane region.

The PCE will assist the current Engineer in his "Head-Office" role regarding delegated functions and responsibilities in the supervision of the above-mentioned road construction project.

You will work in the Design and Construction supervision business unit and your duties will include : Lead, manage and guide Engineers, technicians, draughts persons and delegate work effectively.

Ensure that all employees in the team are supplied with the relevant tools required to perform jobs Formulate systems for smooth running of the business unit to enable synergy and coherence with other projects and business units in Tolplan Manage and direct Designs and ensure Reporting to meet projects objectives.

Prepare proposals, tenders and contract documents for infrastructure services nationally and internationally.

Direct and manage and where so required perform Construction monitoring and implementation of site construction work, including at least the following aspects : i.Ensuring compliance with design / specifications and standards.

ii.Ensuring compliance with programme and all knowledge areas.

iv.Preparing reports.

v.Liaise with clients vi.Control scope of work Discipline lead in design projects and take responsibility for project results and deliverables.

Develop engineering solutions.

Help expand our capabilities.

Project manage medium to large scale multi-disciplinary projects.

Internal Project Management, Health and Safety, Administration and Quality Management Procedures as and when and where required.

Training and Mentoring Participate in continuous professional development training in order to maintain professional registration.

Mentor, coach, train and provide technical leadership to team members and candidate Engineers / Technologists / Technicians.

Leadership and Relations Build and maintain good working relations with all stakeholders, both internal and external to the company.

Provide supervisory and technical leadership on projects.

Manage project teams to control risks and to achieve targets on time and within budget.

Assist with the compilation and review of discipline specific technical standards, templates and technologies.

You are able to communicate clearly with diverse clients and stakeholders, understand wants and needs, and can lead a team of engineers and technicians to translate the needs into an engineering design.

Qualifications And Experience / Minimum Requirements At least a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised institution.

Professional registration with ECSA (PrEng).

12 or more years work experience in civil works contract supervision for infrastructure projects such as roads, pavements and drainage.

10 year Contract administration and project management experience Roads and infrastructure full project lifecycle experience Proven track record in business development and success in generating business from public and private sectors with an understanding of both environments.

Management experience with a sound knowledge of financial and project management concepts.

Good organisational skills and project management competencies Must be able to network with clients and stakeholders at a senior level.

Must be able to work independently.

Good oral and written communication skills in English.
