Professional Bridge Engineer - Structures

Primary Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for delivering professional services on projects within the Functional group and providing support to the Functional Manager, Section Manager, and Professionals / Consultants to ensure the successful completion of multidisciplinary projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with budgets, resourcing, and outsourcing of work within the section.
- Develop increased design ability and quality.
- Draft technical reports of acceptable technical and presentation quality.
- Provide technical solutions and develop appreciation of outcomes.
- Check and take responsibility for the work of others.
- Present and represent technical work and service offerings to clients and at technical conferences.
- Draft responses to straightforward bids, with assistance on commercial aspects.
- Develop knowledge of project management and commercial aspects.
- Assign work to team members.
- Identify and follow up on leads for additional work.
- Develop understanding of relevant technologies and markets.
- Possess niche technical expertise, especially in relevant software tools.
- Supervise small teams of Engineers, including checks and inspections for compliance.
- Ensure quality assurance throughout project lifecycle.
- Support business development efforts, including marketing and client relationship management.
- Assist with contract management, including managing sub-consultants and assessing contractor claims.
- Coordinate tasks and staff across multiple projects.
- Support regional initiatives and develop client relationships.
- Assist in financial planning, forecasting, and revenue recognition.
- Contribute to marketing strategies and project acquisition.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Mentor graduates and manage work allocation.
- Handle submission of EOIs, RFQs, tenders, and proposals.
- Recognize revenue and control project budgets.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience:
- Bachelor of Engineering or higher from an accredited university.
- Minimum 6 years of relevant professional experience.
- Professional registration.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain professional appearance and conduct.
- Strong team work and flexible work style.
- Knowledge of project financials, budgeting, and forecasting.
