Job description

Our team has an immediate opening for a Production Worker in the Packaging Department! This is a first shift position from Monday to Friday, 6am - 2:30pm. The main responsibility of the Production Worker is to pack materials and products manually and by machine for warehouse storage and/or customer delivery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Cleans packaging containers, lines, and pads boxes; assembles cartons.
• Obtains and sorts products, places them in cavities, and assembles components according to material lists.
• Wraps protective material around products; inserts or pours products into containers or fills containers from spouts or chutes.
• Measures and adjusts quantities; glues, closes, seals containers; labels containers, cartons, and products.
• Sorts bundles or filled containers.
• Packs special arrangements or selections of products.
• Inspects materials, products, and containers at each step of the packaging process.
• Records information such as quantity, time, date, and obtains approval initials.
• May stack, separate, count, pack, wrap, and weigh products. Some products require final assembly prior to packing.
• Most responsibilities are performed while sitting. Operation of ZED cavity packaging machine requires standing. Not all packagers will operate ZED or drill press. All packagers are expected to perform assemblies.
• Operate Zed cavity packaging machine; heat sealing machine; computer and label printer; labeling gun; scale; drill press; vacuum fill; lamination; copier; calculator; cutters (compressed air & paper).
