Job summary

• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of faultfinding on multidisciplinary systems and machinery.

• Train operators on safety procedures and autonomous maintenance.

Job Purpose :

Maintain the plant to ensure optimal production levels and equipment availability. Support autonomous maintenance and plant automation & digitalization. Act as backup to shift leads.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities :

• Execute activities accurately and on time, adhering to Bayer standards.
• Train operators, enforce safety procedures, and manage contractor supervision.
• Conduct repairs, inspections, and raise job notifications.
• Upskill operators on autonomous maintenance and maintain service schedules.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs, manage schedules, and serve as the link between production and maintenance.
• Respond to emergencies, assist in shutdown planning, and recommend system improvements.

Skills and Qualifications :

• Artisan with Matric and engineering qualification in electrical or mechanical maintenance.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in electrical/mechanical maintenance and repairs.
• Knowledge of faultfinding on multidisciplinary systems and machinery.
• Experience with manufacturing and plant automation systems (MES, SCADA, PLC) is advantageous.
