SUMMARY:

Leading manufacturing group are seeking an experienced Production Technician. The Production Technician plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of filling lines. This role is responsible for the setup, adjustment, and basic maintenance of filling, capping, and labelling equipment. The technician will work closely with machine operators to ensure production targets, including speed and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), are consistently met. Additionally, the role supports continuous improvement initiatives through training and Kaizen activities. The position will report to the area supervisor and will also have oversight from the engineering team. The position will be an important link between the production, engineering and maintenance teams.

POSITION INFO:

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and adjust automatic and semi-automatic filling, capping, and labelling equipment to meet production schedules.
  • Monitor line performance and troubleshoot issues to minimize downtime and maintain target OEE.
  • Perform basic maintenance and cleaning of production equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with machine operators to ensure proper operation and adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Train new and existing operators on equipment use, safety procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in and lead Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Maintain accurate records of equipment settings, maintenance activities, and production performance.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards in all production activities.

Requirements

  • Technical diploma or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG
  • Hands-on experience with filling, capping, and labelling machinery.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with OEE metrics and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Kaizen, 5S).
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Operating Hours: DAY SHIFT: Monday to Friday, 07h00 to 16h30, NIGHT SHIFT: Monday to Thursday 18:00 to 06:00. Operations are a 2-shift weekly rotation. Friday nights and Saturdays are worked during peak periods and when required to support manufacturing demand.
