Job summary

A leading poultry supplier in South Africa seeks a committed Production Team Leader for their Hartbeespoort division. The ideal candidate will manage production teams to meet quality and food safety standards, requiring a qualification in Food Technology or Engineering and 3-5 years of FMCG experience. Poultry experience is a bonus. Applications must be submitted by 12 September 2025.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure products produced adhere to quality and food safety standards.
  • Achieve fresh production targets to approved specification.
  • Ensure compliance with hygiene cleaning and critical control points.
  • Implement product flow control and accurate cutting standards.
  • Monitor order vs produced compliance on an hourly basis.

Overview

Sovereign, a national supplier of quality chicken products to various markets with operations in five provinces, is seeking a thorough and committed individual for the position of Production Team Leader in the Commercial division at Hartbeespoort. This position reports to the Processing Shift Leader. A qualification in Food Technology/Science/Nutrition, Mechanical/Electrical/ Engineering is a requirement. 3-5 years’ experience in managing a production team in an FMCG environment with sound technical background knowledge is essential. Poultry experience will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure various products produced adhere to quality and food safety standards by
  • Achievement of fresh production targets to approved specification only.
  • Ensuring compliance with hygiene cleaning and process critical control points.
  • Implementing product flow control and accurate cutting standards.
  • Daily sign off summary quality documents.
  • Monitoring order vs produced compliance on an hourly basis.
  • Minimise wastage and optimise distributions
  • Manage and maintain the equipment to EOM standards
  • Continuously monitoring, training and assessing labour compliance with standards.
  • Implement and ensure sound adherence to work instructions, volume requirements and specifications
