Production Supervisor – Woodwork and Board Industry

Southern Suburbs – Negotiable salary based on experience and qualifications plus provident fund after 6 months.

Are you currently a successful Assistant or Junior Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment, looking for a change of scenery?

My client, a well-established company specializing in the manufacturing and supply of wood board products, hardware, and building materials, is looking for a Production Supervisor, ideally with a woodwork/carpentry/shop fitting background to join their vibrant, dynamic team in the Southern Suburbs or Montague Gardens to assist with:

1. Planning daily production and supervising production activities to ensure service delivery deadlines are met
2. Implementing and maintaining production records
3. Setting up equipment and overseeing and planning equipment maintenance and servicing
4. Continually ensuring that quality standards are maintained
5. Managing stock requirements to fulfill orders
6. Supervising warehouse and stock storage
7. Assisting/supervising loading of customer orders
8. Maintaining Health & Safety (OHS)
9. Ensuring the production area is clean and organized
10. General Production and Operations Administration
11. Providing coaching/mentoring where needed to staff
12. Working overtime when required

You may be the successful candidate if you:

1. Have a proven track record (at least 2 years) as a successful Junior/Assistant Production Supervisor in a manufacturing environment (ideally woodwork, carpentry, and/or shop fitting), managing a team of production staff members
2. Have Grade 12 plus, ideally, a relevant Tertiary Qualification.
3. Ideally have working experience in Engineering, print, packaging, plastics, woodworking, shop fitting, or the signage industry
4. Can demonstrate technical ability/understanding
5. Have OHS experience
6. Ideally have a Forklift License (Optional)
7. Are computer literate (MS Word and Excel)
8. Are structured and systematic in task completion to ensure general efficiency and accuracy
9. Can work effectively with others as part of a team.
10. Are able to collect and critically evaluate information to enhance performance and productivity.
11. Can pro-actively identify and efficiently solve problems for improved manufacturing efficiencies.
12. Have the personality attributes and technical and supervisory skills typically associated with successful Production Supervisors.
13. Have good English communication skills (verbal & written)
14. Are willing to work Monday to Friday 8 – 5 and Saturdays 8 - 1.
