Role Overview

Responsibilities & Duties
Performance Planning:
Liaise with the Operations Manager regarding current projections versus actual sales.
Review and adjust monthly planning schedules and weekly plans.
Conduct weekly production meetings at the conversion stage and daily production meetings for extrusion, identifying and implementing optimal programs to meet planned requirements.
Analyze market demand trends versus stock levels (Finished, WIP, Raw, Packaging) and recommend remedial actions for potential shortfalls.
Review plant availability, including condition, scheduled maintenance, and schedules.
Production Control:
Ensure all production inputs and resources (staff, machines, materials, dies, weighing scales) are in place.
Monitor production flow and plant performance, ensuring compliance with safety, health standards, quality, and best practices.
Identify deviations from standards, investigate causes, and initiate corrective actions.
Coordinate with control room and operators to address gaps.
Monitor material batches, address non-conformances, and identify potential hazards.
Oversee process changes under varying operating conditions, document manual interventions, and recommend adjustments.
Documentation & Reporting:
Produce reports related to daily/weekly production, maintenance, and safety.
Input production data into the system (BOM) and produce statutory records as required.
Ensure all relevant documents are available.
Procurement & Leadership:
Procure local buyouts as needed.
Recruit and appoint team members.
Create a performance-driven environment through training, communication, feedback, recognition, and fostering teamwork.
Identify and resolve workplace conflicts proactively.
Qualifications & Experience
Tertiary qualification in Production Management or similar.
At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years managing a team.
Knowledge of IQ Retail System and experience within the hardware or retail sectors are advantageous.
