VACANCY

SA STEELWORKS – PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR (MELTSHOP)

Location: AIRPORT INDUSTRIA – CAPE TOWN

SA Steelworks has a Production Supervisor position available for a committed and hardworking individual. The successful candidate will support the Production Department at the Airport Industria branch, Cape Town. Applicants are required to complete a skills test, with only those achieving an average pass rate of 70% invited for a personal interview. (SHIFT POSITION)

Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To
  1. Management of floor operational procedures
  2. Manage quality standards according to set targets and guidelines
  3. Identify potential failures and implement solutions to mitigate risks
  4. Supervise the team to ensure smooth shift operations
  5. Manage floor consumables and spares to ensure continuous production
  6. Investigate incidents, communicate findings, and propose solutions promptly
  7. Complete incident reports and submit them to the Line Manager or delegate
  8. Implement and monitor Occupational Health and Safety compliance
  9. Enforce housekeeping standards
Applicants Must Have The Following Qualifying Criteria
  • Matric (Mathematics compulsory)
  • Diploma or studying towards a qualification in Engineering
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to detect machine discrepancies
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, presentation)
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production or mechanical environment
  • Self-motivated and self-driven with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work shifts
  • Ability to operate under challenging conditions
  • Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations
  • Good health and physical fitness
  • Own transport
