Job description

Production Supervisor

My client, in the manufacturing industry, is looking to employ a Production Supervisor for their branch in Kempton Park.

The ideal candidate will manage the conversion of raw materials into finished goods efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to internationally benchmarked standards and practices.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Liaising with the factory manager regarding customer demand.
  2. Planning and scheduling production in line with the pacer plan and any changes in customer demand.
  3. Communicating planning schedules effectively with team leaders and team members.
  4. Ensuring short interval controls are performed at the correct times to meet production targets and maintain inventory levels.
  5. Monitoring production progress and discussing achievement with team leaders daily.
  6. Identifying production problems and discussing solutions with team leaders and key team members.
  7. Monitoring production output daily and implementing actions to improve performance.
  8. Developing medium to long-term actions to improve production performance and reduce variability.
  9. Ensuring quality standards are maintained and employees are trained accordingly.
  10. Motivating employees to improve product quality and reviewing corrective actions to eliminate deficiencies.
  11. Reducing quality defects by 50% annually and maintaining reject rates at final inspection below 3%.
  12. Discussing major maintenance requirements with the Factory Manager and ensuring routine maintenance is conducted.
  13. Stopping the use of any equipment that endangers employee safety.
  14. Measuring performance against reports and developing action plans to reduce costs.
  15. Coordinating efforts to improve departmental performance and managing staff motivation and performance.
  16. Conducting daily meetings to discuss issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
