Job summary

SA Metal Group (Pty) Ltd in Cape Town is seeking a Production Supervisor to provide management support within the Production department, overseeing staff and day-to-day operations to keep production running safely and efficiently. The role requires Grade 12, 2–5 years supervisory experience, knowledge of maintenance and production planning, and a solid understanding of Health and Safety regulations.

Overtime and night shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent.
• 2–5 years supervisory experience.

• Knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
• Willingness to work overtime and night shift as and when required.
• Previous experience in a physically demanding working environment would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage timesheet and attendance records.
• Motivates team.
• Ensure that all machinery and equipment are checked to be safe and in good working order.
• Report all faults to the necessary departments.
• Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to.
• Processes operational requirements with the team.
• Facilitates Health & Safety Toolbox Talks.
• PPE- Ensure that all PPE regulations are adhered to before work begins.
• Adheres to Health & Safety Regulations in terms of the Safety file for the department.
• Ensures that all Employees' Written Task Procedures are up to date and that they have been explained by the Manager and that Employee understands the contents thereof.
• Ensures that operators have the necessary Licenses & permits where necessary.
• Ensure that general housekeeping is attended to.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Production Supervisor primary purpose is to provide management support within the Production department. To manage employees and various operations within the department. The following tasks will include, but are not limited to:

Responsibilities NOT limited to the below

• Manage timesheet and attendance records.

• Motivates team.

• Ensure that all machinery and equipment are checked to be safe and in good working order.

• Report all faults to the necessary departments.

• Ensure that correct standard operating procedures are adhered to.
