Job purpose :

The Project Planner (Mechanical) will be responsible for the effective planning, coordination, and execution of mechanical engineering projects. This role will involve ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

The Project Planner will act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, providing strategic guidance and support to the engineering team to ensure project objectives are met.

What will you be doing?

The Project Planner (Mechanical) will assume responsibility for the comprehensive planning and execution of mechanical engineering projects. Their primary focus will be ensuring projects are delivered punctually, within budgetary constraints, and to the highest standards of quality.

You will manage resources efficiently, provide detailed project status reports, and handle all necessary administrative duties to maintain project momentum. You will act as the central point of communication for all project stakeholders, fostering clear and consistent updates, and will effectively manage contracts while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks.

Taking full ownership of assigned projects, you will implement detailed tracking and monitoring systems to ensure timely completion and expedite manufacturing processes. Ultimately, you will serve as the principal liaison and strategic advisor to the engineering team, guaranteeing the successful attainment of all project objectives.

The ideal candidate for this role will possess the following qualifications and experience :
  1. Education : N6 or equivalent tertiary qualification in Engineering or Aerospace Technology. Aircraft related trade is essential.
  2. Experience : At least 5-10 years of hands-on experience in the aviation or aerospace industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and coordination.
