Job description

Job Purpose: The purpose of this position is to execute daily production schedules and plans for all production units, including capacity planning, procurement planning, KPI reporting, and monitoring adherence to processes. The role involves ensuring master data is updated daily and monitoring variances in forecasts.

The Production Planner will communicate all of the above to relevant stakeholders as required.

Reporting to:

Planning Manager

Output:
  • Strategic Planning: Participate and influence department strategy.
  • Monitor and track progress against the plan.
  • Develop recommendations and action plans to deliver departmental strategy.
  • Collaborate with team members to implement strategy.
  • Build relationships with stakeholders to address challenges and improve processes.
  • Coordinate with suppliers on strategic planning and forecasting.
  • Maintain proactive communication with stakeholders.
  • Plan stock build considering capacity and raw material supply.
Operational Planning:
  • Understand and optimize supply chain and systems.
  • Account for internal and external demand factors in forecasts.
  • Communicate with stakeholders to maximize efficiency.
  • Identify challenges, trends, and opportunities.
Data and System Management:
  • Maintain data accuracy and system integrity.
  • Gather information and assumptions.
  • Align and reach consensus on plans.
  • Share, publish, and track plans.
Daily Operations:
  • Issue daily production schedules.
  • Plan resource shifts and labor.
  • Ensure procurement compliance.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
  • Analyze historical and current performance for continuous improvement.
  • Understand market and product trends impacting demand.
  • Implement tactical plans for capacity and staffing (6-18 months).
  • Review long-term tactical plans.
Planning Initiatives:

Innovate and improve planning processes.

Qualifications:

Beng Industrial / BCom in Supply Chain

Experience:
  • 1-2 years operational supply chain experience required.
  • FMCG experience advantageous.
Working Hours:

Monday to Friday, 06:00 – 15:30
