Job summary

Placements24 in South Africa is seeking a dedicated Production Operator to manage day-to-day operations of oil and gas processing facilities in Tembisa. You will monitor processes, perform routine checks, and respond to deviations to keep production running safely and efficiently.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in oil and gas or similar industry, and the ability to read P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment manuals. Shift work including nights and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade certification in a relevant field is advantageous.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as an operator in an oil and gas production facility or similar industrial environment.
• Demonstrated understanding of oil and gas processing operations and safety protocols.
• Ability to read and understand P&IDs, PFDs, and equipment manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor production equipment, including pumps, compressors, separators, and control systems.
• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on facility equipment to ensure reliable operation.
• Read and interpret process control instruments, gauges, and charts to ensure operations are within established parameters.
• Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, upsets, and emergencies, following established procedures.
• Maintain accurate operational logs and reports, documenting production data and any operational issues.
• Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, procedures, and environmental regulations.
