Mind Detect Ltd. in Cape Town is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join its data & ML team. The role is hybrid, offering the chance to bridge cutting-edge ML research with scalable production systems.

You will deploy and optimize models, build MLOps pipelines, and collaborate with researchers to productionise novel architectures while enjoying generous equity and the pace of a start-up.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, ML, Data Science, AI, Software Engineering, EE, Mathematics or related field from a top-tier university.
• 3–5+ years of experience in ML engineering or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of PyTorch and deep learning fundamentals.
• Experience with ONNX, TensorRT, or model quantisation.
• Strong software engineering skills (Python, testing, CI/CD).
• Familiarity with distributed training and serving infrastructure.

Responsabilidades

• Deploy and optimize ML models for production serving.
• Build robust MLOps pipelines for training, evaluation, and deployment.
• Optimize CUDA kernels and model inference for latency-critical applications.
• Implement micro-batching, caching, and quantisation strategies.
• Collaborate with researchers to productionise novel architectures.
