The Production/Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for optimizing manufacturing processes, improving production efficiency, and ensuring the quality of products. This role involves designing and implementing process improvements, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross functional teams to enhance overall manufacturing operations.

Key Performance Areas/Accountabilities/High level functions

Process Optimization:

• Analyze and improve production processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

• Develop and implement strategies to optimize machine performance, cycle times, and throughput.

• Conduct studies and process evaluations to identify areas for improvement

Quality Assurance:

• Ensure products meet quality standards and specifications by developing and monitoring quality control processes.

> Investigate and resolve quality issues, working closely with the Quality Assurance team.

> Implement corrective and preventive actions to address quality concerns.

Technical Support:

> Provide technical support and troubleshooting for manufacturing equipment and processes.

• Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure equipment reliability and uptime.

• Assist in the selection, installation, and calibration of new machinery and tools.

Project Management:

> Lead or participate in projects aimed at process improvements, equipment upgrades, and cost reduction.

• Develop project plans, including timelines, resources, and budgets.

• Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion within budget constraints. ocumentation and Reporting:

> Maintain accurate documentation of processes, procedures, and changes.

• Prepare and present reports on production metrics, process improvements, and project status to management.

Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies Work closely with product development, design, and operations teams to ensure smooth product launches and transitions.

• Facilitate communication between manufacturing and other departments to address production-related issues and implement solutions .

Train production staff on new processes, equipment, and best practices

Qualification and Experience

• A tertiary qualification of BSc. or BEng Mechanical - Industrial- or Manufacturing Engineering

> At least 5 years' experience in the relevant engineering industry

• Previous experience in aircraft related engineering (preferable)

• Thorough understanding of aeronautical design principles and manufacturing processes

Knowledge, Skills and Attributes

• Proficiency with design packages SolidWorks / CATIA will be advantageous.

• Conversant with engineering programming tools MATLAB or similar.

• Highly Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Proficient in Engineering calculations and analyses.

Basic knowledge of materials selection, surface treatment and aircraft fasteners standards.

Knowledge of general aircraft standard manufacturing processes.

> Willing to travel and work in place with "challenging" conditions.

• Willing to study aviation regulations and their applicability in the design processes.

• Strong Planning skills is an advantage.
