A leading company in the engineering sector is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee operational systems, manage resources, and drive performance in eMalahleni. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and possess over five years of experience in production or operations, demonstrating leadership and problem-solving skills while ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role is responsible for managing and implementing operational systems, processes, and monitoring activities at the site. The objective is to ensure efficient, compliant, and high-performing operations.
Manage the production team effectively
Ensure compliance with contractual quality and quantity KPIs
Maintain adherence to internal and client safety standards
Implement and oversee administrative and control procedures to support performance objectives
Drive continuous improvement and process optimisation
Oversee stock control and inventory management
Maintain detailed monitoring, recording, and reporting on processes and ongoing projects
Manage resources to ensure employee performance meets required standards
Deliver high-quality, professional service to ensure client satisfaction
Participate in client feedback meetings and compile monthly performance reports
Monitor operational health and proactively address issues to optimise availability
Report effectively to the area Operations Manager
Serve as the legal representative of the company on-site
BSc in Chemical Engineering or S4 Chemical Engineering Diploma
5+ years of relevant production/operations experience
Experience with softening, ultrafiltration, and reverse osmosis processes is an advantage
Strong understanding of asset health and operational management
Demonstrated record of strong past performance
Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, databases, PowerPoint, and email
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Skilled in planning, attention to detail, and process troubleshooting
Ethical, responsible, innovative, and accountable
Experience in client relationship management
