Job description

About the Role:

An established clothing wholesaler in Zwelitsha is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to lead and oversee its production operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, hands-on manufacturing knowledge, and a results-driven mindset to support efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production outputs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead day-to-day production operations to meet targets for quality, output, and delivery timelines
  • Develop and execute production schedules and capacity plans
  • Manage and mentor a diverse production team, fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Monitor all processes for quality assurance and implement corrective actions as needed
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives in efficiency, cost control, and product quality
  • Ensure all health, safety, and compliance standards are maintained
  • Collaborate closely with design, sourcing, and logistics departments for seamless workflow
Requirements:

  • Minimum 5–8 years’ experience in production or operations management within the clothing, textile, or apparel sector
  • Proven ability to manage production staff and workflow in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of garment construction, quality control, and supply chain principles
  • Solid understanding of lean manufacturing and production planning tools
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Valid Passport
Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Degree in Production Management, Textile Technology, Clothing Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering
  • Additional management or quality assurance certifications are highly advantageous
  • Experience in Southern African markets and knowledge of local labour laws will be beneficial
